Intercollege Transfer to HDFS
If you're a current UI student interested in changing your major to either of the concentrations in Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), you'll need to complete an Inter-College Transfer (ICT) application form and submit it to the HCD Undergraduate Advising Coordinator. (College of ACES students must also submit an application, even though they are not changing colleges.)
Application Requirements:
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.50
- Completion of PSYC 100 and the HDFS QR1 requirement (MATH 124, 220, 221 or 234). Applicants with more than 60 hours of credit must also have completed HDFS 105. Applicants with fewer than 60 hours of credit may be admitted with these courses in progress or on condition that these courses be completed prior to the start of their junior year. Note: Students admitted conditionally who fail to meet any conditions of admission will be dropped from the College of ACES.
HDFS Applied Experience Fee:
To help cover costs associated with the HDFS program's applied, experiential and research internship activities, all HDFS students pay a one-time $1,000 fee, assessed for the fall semester of the student's junior year. Junior and senior transfers will have the fee assessed for their first fall semester following admission to the HDFS major.
